Charity is an important principle in Freemasonry. The Masonic Charitable Foundation is one of the UK’s top charities raising over £30m a year, for Masonic and Non-Masonic charities.

Details of the Masonic Charities can be found on the United Grand Lodge website here.

At Ipsley we will have a charity collection at each meeting, and in the course of the year the Lodge will have social events at which we will raise money for particular charities. Sometimes this money will be used to support the Masonic Charities and at other times to support more local charities.

At Ipsley we have supported Help4Heroes and the local Primrose Hospice in recent years. Each year the new Worshipful Master can support the charity of his choice.

Each year most of the donations collected by Ipsley Lodge and the other Lodges from Redditch are managed by the Redditch Masonic Charity.

Here is a press statement about the 2018 Donations.

BIG hearted Redditch Freemasons continued their support for the local community last Sunday by handing out bumper cheques to local good causes.

The Freemasons raised the money in the course of the 2017/18 Masonic year making donations to 29 different charities totalling £14,225.

The final group of donations were made to seven charities each of whom received £500.

These were Redditch District Scouts, the Redditch Branch of Parkinsons UK, Redditch Association for the Blind, The League of Friends of the Alexandra Hospital, Indigo Arts, Redditch & Bromsgrove Sea Cadets, and Acts of Kindness which run the Redditch Food Bank.

The cheques were presented by the Provincial Grand Masters of Warwickshire and Worcestershire, Right Worshipful Bro’s David Macey and Robert Vaughan at the Masonic Hall in Easemore Road, followed by afternoon tea.

Redditch Freemasons welcome applications from any local charity. Contact RMCO, 21 Easemore Road, Redditch, B98 2EE.
