What we do at Ipsley

Ipsley Lodge meets at the Redditch Masonic Hall seven times during our season, on the first Thursday of the month from October to April. Each year the April meeting is the Installation of our new Worshipful Master, who will ‘manage’ the lodge activities for the next season. The Regular Meeting, including the ritual or ceremony, generally starts at 6:00 p.m. and usually last 1.5 – 2hrs. We then have the Festive Board in the dining room. This is a formal meal with toasts and a few (short!) speeches. The evening usually finishes about 10:00-10:30. A raffle and charity collection take place during the Festive Board.

At all our regular meetings we will have visitors from other Lodges – Redditch Masons, and those from much further afield.   Visiting other Lodges, sharing our common vision, and making new friends is at the heart of Freemasonry.

Prior to every Regular Meeting we have one or two practices to rehearse what we are going to do at the meeting – this is an excellent place to learn about ritual and lodge specific customs. All lodges have their own particular customs which makes visiting other lodges particularly interesting.

In the week after the Regular Meeting there will be a Management Meeting to discuss lodge issues, make plans, administer the work of the lodge and prepare for the next meeting.
