Ipsley Lodge meets seven times during our season on the first Thursday from October to April. The April meeting is our Installation meeting for the new Worshipful Master. The Regular Meeting including the ritual or ceremony generally starts at 6:00 p.m. and usually last 1.5 – 2hrs. We then have the Festive Board in the dining room. This is a formal meal with toasts and a few (short!) speeches. The evening usually finishes about 10:00-10:30. A raffle and charity collection take place during the Festive Board.
Prior to every Regular Meeting we have one or two practices to rehearse what we are going to do at the meeting – this is an excellent place to learn about ritual and lodge specific customs. All lodges have their own particular customs which makes visiting other lodges particularly interesting.
In the week after the Regular Meeting there will be a Management Meeting to discuss lodge issues, make plans and administer the work of the lodge and prepare for the next meeting.
